COVID Test Results

Wednesday evening, on the 12th, I received my results for the COVID PCR test from RiteAid.

NEGATIVE!!!

I returned to work the following day. I am still baffled by the outcome, especially considering I not only was with my family who was positive but had exhibited extremely mild cold symptoms as well. So many hypotheses about it, but really, who knows? I am going with it and hopefully, I will remain healthy for the long haul.

This virus, pandemic, and rules around it are very confusing and nothing seems to make sense. Like everyone, I am tired of it all. To think that we may have to continue dealing with these rules, mandates, restrictions for another three years are disheartening.

As the virus mutates, it will become less and less of a problem, as so many have in the past and we will be living our lives without all these restrictions that segregate us from life and humanity. Hopefully, this will happen sooner than later.

I think we all have to understand that despite what they want us to think is correct, is still a guessing game. Everything is constantly changing as we learn more about the virus. Really, nobody knows what they are doing and mistakes will continue to happen. We are all human. We have to continue to remember that.

We as individuals have to do what we feel is best for ourselves and our loved ones. My opinion is my own. My choices are my own. I cannot tell you how to make your choices and you cannot tell me how to make mine. We have to remember and remind ourselves of that.

Nobody is wrong here.

We have to accept that we are doing what we think is best for ourselves. We should not shame, segregate or abandon those that may feel differently than ourselves. We must embrace our differences and if someone fails, which will occur, support them instead of ridicule and punish them. Learn from the mistakes and failures, so that they have less likely of a chance to be repeated in our future (near and far).

Let's keep reminding each other that we are ALL Human. This is a learning and growing experience meant for us to conquer together, not to separate and divide us.

We all want to be safe, healthy, and happy.

COVID-19 2022

Welcome to 2022!!!

I wish I can say that this year has started out flawlessly. It hasn’t started out terrible, but it definitely has thrown me for a loop. COVID-19 as much as I was hoping it would remain out of our personal lives, decided to visit us.

Just after the new year begun, my husband began showing signs and symptoms of a cold. Our household has had colds that haven’t been COVID-19 on multiple occasions since the whole pandemic began. It’s not convenient and testing is annoying, but I think by now just about every single one of us has had at least one COVID test.

My husband a day or so after he began having symptoms presented with a fever and out of precaution we decided to start the quarantine process. We hadn’t been back to work or school since the holiday break, so we had very limited contact with the public. That same day I started feeling the tickle in my throat and had a mild headache, but my son was symptom free.

I began adding more NAC, zinc and C to my supplement routine, dosing myself a few more times during the day. I also continued giving my son colloidal silver and NAC once a day. I figured it couldn’t hurt and it hopefully would reduce any symptoms, or in my son’s case, keep him symptom free.

My husband went looking for home tests at local pharmacies, it took a bit of calling around, but found a few. He took it and tested positive immediately. The following day, on Tuesday, I decided to pay for a RT-PCR test through a local testing business because testing appointments were scarce and days out. I didn’t want to wait and they offered quick results. My results were negative.

Days passed and our symptoms remained very mild. My son remained symptom free until Thursday when he woke up with a fever and headache. After dose of acetaminophen and some additional sleep, he was up running around as if nothing had happened. He received a few doses of acetaminophen and ibuprofen during that day, with only complaining again in the evening of his headache returning. Friday morning his temperature was normal and he was symptom free again. Luckily my husband who had the forethought, scheduled him a test earlier in the week for Saturday afternoon.

Just so that you are clear, we didn’t isolate my husband from us. He also is the only one in the house who received the vaccine. We continued our day-to-day as we would normally would. The only difference is we remained quarantined away from the public, only to leave our house for tests and walk the dogs around our street.

By Saturday, my almost non-existent symptoms were gone, and both my husband and son were feeling fine. They both ended up getting tested at an Immediate Care and from the physical they received by the Doctor there, they looked good.

Monday morning I retested at a local RiteAid, it was the soonest available appointment that I was able to find, and I scheduled it when my son was symptomatic. That evening their PCR results came back as positive. With the current rules, both were now able to return to interacting with the public. I on the other hand, am in a waiting limbo.

This morning I still have not received my results and decided to take a home test, just out of curiosity and because the test is set to expire in February (yup, the free test from the school we just received last week). The results were very clearly negative.

So, am I really negative? Have I been negative this entire time? I did test negative twice. How did I evade the virus that was clearly floating around my house? Many questions that run through my head as I wait for the results, which could not be for another few days.

Time will tell. It is currently a waiting game. I will let you know when I find out.
